Dear Lord, please help me keep a straight face when I reprimand my 6-year-old son for telling his 4-year-old brother that eating a jar full of fireflies would make him a glow in the dark superhero, Amen.

This makes perfect sense. At least that’s what our trusted camp counselors once told us.
Did anyone ever try to tell you that if you ate an apple seed a tree would grow inside you?
Me neither.
Same warning about watermelon seeds, but then again I ate dirt as a child sooo . . .
It does make you glow in the dark. I’m a walking source of constant light since I ate a jar of fireflies. Okay, enough already, what are fireflies?
Little summer bugs flicker at night some people call them lightening bugs, glow bugs, etc., and unfortunately I’ve eaten my share at family picnics, eww!
Maybe it’s just me but they don’t sound tasty at all, at all!
But they are considered a “light” meals, see what I did, light meal, light mea . . . sigh.
