George Clooney, John Stamos, Dannon Yogurt and Facebook

Sometimes, I need to have sound in the background as I work.  I attribute this need to my days working in a newsroom where nothing was quiet.  Anyway, yesterday, I put on the TV and lo and behold, I found an episode of Murder, She Wrote.  I wasn’t listening to the show until a man’s voice caught my attention. I looked at the TV and there before me was a very young George Clooney.

He was adorable, and I mean adorable not in the “hot sexy adorable” way he is now. No, he was adorable in an “I would love to adopt him” way.  He had that tousled hair and big grin and well, I lost focus on my work and had to stop and watch the end of the episode. I found myself saying “Aww” with every line he uttered.  A few hours later, I had just cleaned up the dinner dishes and I decided to sit down for a bit to see what was on TV again. There before me, was a Dannon commercial for their new Greek Oikos yogurt, and who was in that commercial? No, not George Clooney.  John Stamos.

I know you might wonder what George Clooney has to do with John Stamos.  Well, absolutely nothing, except they were both 1980s TV stars and I can’t believe how they have grown into much hotter men than they were in their 20s.  I will admit I never liked John Stamos as Blackie on General Hospital or as Jesse on Full House. In John Stamos’ defense, I think I didn’t like Jesse because I hated that show. If I had to list my least favorite TV shows of all time – Full House would top the list. Yes, the kids were cute but the situation was just ridiculous, and I tried to like it but I just could not.  I think another reason why I didn’t like the young John Stamos was because I was jealous of his hair.  It was perfect and to be honest, no man should have that hair.  As he matured, the “do” got shorter and now he has that sophisticated cut with the touch of gray and yeah… well… he looks really good.

George Clooney I remember from Facts of Life and then Roseanne.  He was little boy cute in Facts of Life but in Roseanne, he started to become a “Gee, I wouldn’t mind doing him” type of guy. It wasn’t until his role on ER and his subsequent movies that I realized that I could truly lust for him, and I think his determination to never marry or be “tamed” in real life just added to his “lust” appeal.

So, with both my hot boys present yesterday, I started to Facebook about them. I put up separate comments about each actor, and the feed on John Stamos got the most response. The women liked him best in his most recent roles on ER and Glee. I wasn’t shocked because  he does have a lot of sex appeal.  And personally, I have to wonder what his super model ex-wife was thinking when she dumped him. I shouldn’t say that because I don’t know what happened in the marriage and blah, blah, blah…but I am willing to go out on a limb here and say that his model ex-wife had no idea that he would get this hot.

So, what have we learned from George Clooney and John Stamos?  We have learned that women are not prejudiced against men as they age.  In fact, women of all ages think that men with gray hair and a few well-placed wrinkles are still capable of lighting our fires. And we know that Dannon’s Oikos yogurt is going to be a big seller because women are drooling over the commercial.  I, myself, just bought 20 of the new yogurt brand today hoping that Dannon keeps track and will one day recognize my loyalty and send John Stamos to my house to personally relay their thanks.  That would be amazing.  But with my luck, they won’t send me John Stamos. No, they’ll send me the Olsen Twins instead.

  1. I think Jennifer Aniston has gotten hotter after Brad left her. Michelle Pfeifer is definitely still hot. I don’t mind women dying their hair, but PLEASE stay away from the Botox!

  2. If I force-feed my husband Dannon yogurt will he look like John Stamos? A girl can only dream, sigh! LOL

  3. tried to leave a msg earlier, but as you know your Clooney is my Selleck…and yea, Blackie or Uncle Jesse, he is much better looking now!!! mamma mia!

    1. Thanks, both came up on email so weird, but I got this one and yes, I agree about Tom Selleck. Just keeps getting better looking, Also on the list: Don Henley of the Eagles.

  4. Men get distinguished with age, that’s my sisters thought on the subject. She has some other thoughts on men I’ll keep to myself for the time, as they’re rather crude. If it helps, I think Diane Keaton is smoking hot for her age. 😉

  5. Unlike men, women’s taste in men mature as they age. You don’t see us chasing 18-year olds..

        1. My husband says he had the six-pack of a 21 year old, he just hasn’t taken it out of the bag yet.
