Newt Gingrich told an audience at Harvard University that child labor laws are stupid. He also suggested that schools fire union janitors and replace them with students who would get paid to clean their schools. He said, cleaning their school would instill pride and confidence and allow them to earn money. Yes, nothing would build more self-confidence in a grammar school kid than mopping up their classmates’ vomit during flu season.
