Advancements in Science?

I saw recently that someone has developed a condom with a wrapper that can be removed with just one hand. Do we really need this? I think a more useful invention would have been a wrapper that turns color when exposed to air, like from a pin prick. I had 6 kids already before I figured out what the wife was doing…
