NFL Sinners and Saints

The Saints have been cast into Hell or as close to Hell as one can get. For their participation in the NFL Bounty-For-Players scandal, The NFL is playing the role of vengeful God by suspending former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams indefinitely and Saints head coach Sean Payton for one year. The league  is also suspending Saints GM Mickey Loomis for 2012’s  first eight regular-season games, and Saints assistant head coach Joe Vitt for the first six regular-season games. In addition, the Saints will be fined $500,000 and forfeit their second-round selections in the 2012 and 2013 NFL drafts. This might not put the Saints in Hell but they are deep, deep into Purgatory.

And in other religious news:  Since Peyton Manning assured the Denver Broncos he no longer suffers from a pain in his neck, the Broncos’ John Elway and Jon Fox decided to miraculously rid themselves of their pain in the neck and are trying to send Tim Tebow to the New York Jets.
