The European media is reporting that there is a plot to assassinate the Pope in 2012. Church officials have denounced the report as untrue. However, according to the same media report, the Church has already selected Pope Innocent III who died in 1216 as the successor to the present pontiff. Yes, it’s the first time that a deceased Pope has been recalled to the papacy but then again, as the college of cardinals pointed out, “Will anyone really notice?”
