What Do Michael Phelps, Louis Vuitton and the Official Olympic Condom Have in Common?

Michael Phelps could lose some of his medals because he appeared in an advertisement for Louis Vuitton which was not supposed to be shown until after the Olympics ended. Apparently, the US swimming hero posed for an ad, but someone in Louis Vuitton’s camp leaked the photo during the games which is a NO-NO as Louis Vuitton was not a sponsor of the games.  This incident follows the mysterious scandal of how a non-Olympic sponsored condom (Yes, there was an official condom of the games) made its way into the Australian athletes’ quarters in the Olympic Village. So, what lesson did Michael Phelps and the Australians learn?  Simply put: even if you take extra precautions as a ranked amateur, the Olympic Committee is still ready and willing to see you get screwed.

  1. I don’t think it has anything to do with amateur status; that hasn’t been a concern for most nations for a long time. NBC just wants to make sure they are getting their full measure of Olympic “gold”!

  2. They did it to Jim Thorpe, too. He had made the terrible mistake of playing a little bit of semi-pro baseball. For that they took away his medals, and didn’t restore them to him until 30 years after his death, which didn’t do him much good!
