Why The Bible Must Be Ignored

If a text is to be followed as if it came directly from our creator, its truths must be able to transcend time and cannot be rationalized due to the time it was written.

Deuteronomy 22:28-29
“If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.”

See, the bible says that a rapist has to pay the girl’s dad 50 shekels for raping her. Which in today’s shekels, is pretty much nothing. The bible should have definitely been able to foresee inflation.

  1. I know what is means in the Bible a man “knows” a woman, but now you tell me rape can happen just by “meeting” a virgin?
