A GOP candidate is under fire for writing romance novels.

The Democrats have always boasted the hot celebrities, with everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Scarlett Johansson, but I think the GOP has finally found their poster child for “cool.”

In Colorado, Republican State Senate candidate Jaxine Bubis has drawn ridicule for being a romance writer under the pen name, “Jaxine Daniels.” A conservative gunshop owner promptly sent an email blast upon learning of Jaxine’s erotic past. In this Denver Post article, the gunshop owner reveals his disgust about the discovery: “This is a person supported by the Christian right and conservative lawmakers.” That’s right, folks. The GOP doesn’t want women to climax even if it’s on paper.

The Jaxine Daniels book that’s apparently especially scandalous is Beantown Heat—although I’m not sure how anyone can get off with these Polar Express-type graphics on the cover.

I’m pretty sure the one on the right is killing women and harvesting their skin.

The good news for Jaxine Bubis is that most of her initial big-name supporters haven’t recalled their endorsements. But the bad news is that fictional women’s reproductive rights are now next on the chopping block.

  1. Jaxine Bubis — who wrote such titles as “Beantown Heat” and “A Hard Place to Find” underneath a coop name “Jaxine Daniels” — was outed by Colorado Springs gun store owners Paul Paradis, who helped lead a remember bid opposite Morse.

  2. Is the guy on the right about to hit the guy in the middle in the crotch with the hockey stick? If so, shouldn’t they have some kind of expression on their faces, if they are about to get into a three-way fight to the death with a big, heavy book, a saw and a hockey stick?

The guy on the left has bigger breasts than some women have. I guess we are supposed to know by the bulge in his jeans that he’s a guy.
