Facebook is color blind.

Everyone makes a big deal about how Facebook knows all of us so well, as it can identify faces and keep an activity log of your searches. But I discovered a big flaw today.

This popped up on my Facebook feed, so naturally I clicked on it because I’m a sucker:

When I got to the page, I discovered that, as a white woman,. . .eh, this page might actually not be for me.

Facebook thinks I’m black! All this time I thought it knew me, but here it doesn’t even know the most basic info about me.

  1. You’re a person of color. You just don’t have as much color as some other people do, that’s all.
