Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania Mayor James Wehrle has vetoed a ban on outdoor smoking in public places because he believes outdoor smoking is a civil liberty, and that his own “research” indicates that the cancer risk from exposure to secondhand smoke outdoors is inflated. I know I will sleep better knowing our lungs are in the “scientific” hands of a man who still thinks Phil the Groundhog can predict the weather.
How this dude even got elected is way beyond me.
Second hand smoke is nothing compared to getting drunk with a groundhog! Funny one Donna!!
You are always so wise Deb!
I think you should cut the Mayor a little slack. He’s probably suffering from second hand groundhog.
Good point John! That could be!!!
You gotta love a guy who lives by his convictions. Hopefully he’ll get convicted for his convictions and get thrown in the slammer where all you gotta do to get a ciggy is the prison basketball squad.
You have my sense of justice Jeb! 🙂
His own research? His own research!? I’m sure the tobacco industry puts out some very informative, easy-to-read pamphlets.
I guess stupidity is a civil liberty as well.
And that Dear Sir, is his independent research! Totally unbiased! HA HA
lol….there’s a reason why Punxsutawney was placed soooooo far away from the the main cities in Pennsylvania… this kind thinking is one of them!
Is this a chicken and egg thing John? Was Punxsutawney always this way or did it get this way because of people like the Mayor?
Anything that kills off that @#*$^&! little winter-extending groundhog is fine with me!
I so agree with you Mark and if it can expand to getting rid of the vicious ones on this end of the state, I’m with you too. Philly ones have a lot of Tude!
