Since Pope Benedict XVI is the first pope in 600 years to resign, the Vatican wasn’t sure what kind of retirement benefits to give him. In the end, they decided to give him the same benefits the last Pope who retired received. They sent Benedict off with two mules, a loaf of bread and some grapes.
