I was out in public the other day and a pair of kids were acting out of control and annoying me. So I went and had some choice words with their mother.
I said “Listen lady, these kids are running around, loud and obnoxious… You need to do something about this.”
She said, “HEY, THEY’RE YOUR KIDS, TOO!”

Whenever any kid misbehaves, any normal parent will disavow any relationship to said kid and promptly dump the little outlaw in the lap of the other parent.
Example 1: “Do you know what YOUR son did today?”
Example 2: “You’re just like your (father/mother). Nobody in my family ever acted like you.”
That’s why it takes two parents to properly raise children — one to complain to the other about how poorly they’re misbehaving!
