My Favorite Grandpa

Old Grandpa Ledden wasn’t one to waste words. A man of simple directness, he was my second favorite grandpa. When he did speak, it was always about the same thing; “back in my day we didn’t have video games and Candy Crush helped with diabetes” or “back in my day we never went to a bar to meet women, we went to a kitchen” or “back in my day we never even heard of pasta, it was either spaghetti or it wasn’t”. I have the same disrespect for elderly people as I do for non-elderly people so I decided to shut him up and I bought him a certain book. When he looked at the cover, he actually smiled and that was the moment he became my favorite grandpa:

  1. Looking back on the old days, I can honestly say that I do NOT miss the Cold War, duck and cover drills, every woman being expected to be June Cleaver, party lines on the telephone … I will cast my vote for Bill Y being right on this one!

    1. Those old days sound like hard work.
I’m just going to google June Cleaver, back in a mo…

Wow, talk about dedication, did she ever have time for sex?

  2. I truly think you and your favorite Grandpa should do a tour reading this book aloud to all those people who think the past was so much better than the present. Then again, why ruin their golden years? Very funny Bill Y!

    1. That’s exactly why it’s never going to happen Don Don’s. I’m not going to completely ruin his memories. That and the fact that he’s dead!
