The most entertaining parts of my life are the conversations between my girlfriend and I. She’s a wonderful sport because no matter what she says, I have a knack for taking it to a ridiculous level. I’ve articulated this with the “Queird” post from last week and I am sure you’ll get to read more examples in the near future. It’s not that I don’t understand her point(s), it’s just that I like to entertain people and she sets up jokes so well. Also, I’m a fan of witty, intelligent, movie-esque dialogue. I’m pretty sure she hates my inability to be serious without first making a wise crack, but hey… that’s part of the package, right?
This past Mother’s Day, Caribou Coffee was offering free coffee for moms. Just in case you don’t know what Caribou is, it’s a coffee chain similar to Starbucks. Apparently this free coffee news was important to my girlfriend, after all… she decided to bring it up. The associated conversation went like this…
GF: “Caribou is doing free coffee for Mother’s Day. Buy one cup of coffee and get a free cup for mom.”
JB: “How do you prove you’re a mom? Show them a c-section scar or a series of stretch marks at the time of purchase?”
GF: “…that’s not what I meant.”
JB: “Stop trying to cover up my marketing genius.”
You two are so George and Gracie just not sure which is which. lol 🙂
P.s. Please, please tell me you are old enough to know who George and Gracie are??
…nope! George died when I was 15. I was never privy to much of his work, although I am familiar with the person. 🙂
Does your girlfriend wonder how you became so cynical? Watch it or she won’t share these tidbits of info with you anymore. Then, who will you have to abuse? LOL
She’s adept enough to know that I am joking. 🙂 The key to being able to make stupid comments like I do is balancing it all out with honesty about how I feel about the important things.
