Two Months Old and HumorOutcasts is making Great Progress

Let me start by saying thanks to all the writers who are providing such outstanding content.  Visitors who have found the site are staying and reading multiple posts, and this wouldn’t happen if the quality of work wasn’t there. We now have two editors who make minor adjustments to posts for things like spelling, punctuation or grammar.  We don’t edit content as we want to stay true to the writer’s work.

To our readers, let me say thanks for visiting and you should know that we do our best to make sure you are reading quality posts. Even in internet terms, this site is an infant as it is not yet two months old.   We now have more than 30,000 page views, thanks to several 1000-plus page view days. The visitors have come from all over. We have had visitors from 54 countries and 49 of the 50 states, only Delaware has yet to send a visitor our way. In California we have had visitors from 81 different cities; Pennsylvania (Delaware’s neighbor) has sent visitors from 47 cities. Yes, we are a bit ticked off at Delaware since we spend a lot of time there.

More than half (56%) of our visitors are returning visitors, so when people find us, they come back and read more. When they do visit, 57% of the visitors read more than one page.  Once again, this is a testament to the quality of work and a sign that our growth has only just begun.

We like to let our authors know about some of these stats that come from Google Analytics which they don’t have access to. In addition to these stats, writers can also check out how the site has grown on “alexa.com”, a web traffic analysis site. As of today, HumorOutcasts has a three- month traffic rank of 6,027,381, (US rank 818,635) out of 130-plus million websites in existence (ref) — not bad given we are so young. The one-month global rank is 3,269,627 so it seems we are definitely moving in the right direction.

  1. I’ve been away for awhile. I was amazed at the stats I just checked out. It seems like the last time I logged in, we were averaging closer to 300 page views a day. This is great!
