I think most people have heard of Footprints. It’s a short inspirational piece that chronicles a man’s life by following his footprints. Jesus’s footprints run alongside of the man’s. The man sees that during the worst periods of his life, there is only one set of footprints. The man is kind of disturbed by this and asks Jesus why he abandoned him. Jesus explains:
‘During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you’.
It ends with the man feeling better about how Jesus helped him out.
But this was not any man. It was a man who had spent many years watching “CSI:Jerusalem”. He studied the footprints for quite a while and finally said:
“Umm, Jesus? There’s something interesting here.”
“Yes, my son. The desert tortoise. One of my finest creations.”
“No, it’s not that. I’m about 6’2″ and 220 pounds…and you’re about 5’6″ and what, barely 110?”
“Yes, my son. But I am quite agile.”
“But…I wear a size 12 sandal. What size do you wear?”
“God cannot be measured, my son. God just is.”
“What I mean is…I mean…I see that your sandals don’t have any numbers on them, but they’re probably about a 6 or 7”
“I am fashioned like the common man, my son.”
“But these footprints are large all the way through. If you had carried me with those tiny feet, we would have sunk to our shins. Not to mention, the footprints would be small like your feet….”
“Jesus? Jesus? Are you there?”

CSI Jerusalem? HA HA HA HA Either the almighty just laughs hysterically at your wit or there is no almighty and your safe OR you are in deep–I repeat–deep trouble.
