Major appliance manufacturers are saying that we have come to the end of the Stainless Steel era. Yes, for 25 years, stainless steel appliances have been “IT” in every new home and every remodeled kitchen in the country. This is welcome news for my husband who has thwarted every attempt I have made to get new appliances for the past 20 years. When he heard the news, he sat back, winked and said, “I told you they were a fad. I was so right.” I guess I will be waiting yet another 25 years for a new fridge to see if the next kitchen appliance fad pans out.

I think what they meant was that gourmet cooking at home is a passing fad. Everyone now eats food cooked in a commercial stainless steel kitchen!
