Notice there is no date, plus I didn’t even know I was invited, and yet they’re “having” me. Whatever Boca wants…Boca gets.
No date? Hehe! Well, if for some reason you don’t want to do this gig (i.e. you don’t think it will help you sell any books and, in addition, these people are probably royal pains in the ass), you can always say you have a previous engagement.
Example: “I would love to come and speak at your synagogue and provide you with a free copy of my book and all of the promo materials you asked for, but unfortunately I am scheduled for surgery on my right pinky finger at that time.”
