I spent a few hours yesterday trying to whittle out the fat in a 3,635 word SF short story.
It’s now 3,703 words.
*sigh*

Gawd, I have the same problem—I go in to edit and shorten the work….and then I slip into A.D.D. mode and throw a bunch of random junk in there. I think I need an editor now….
Just about all of us need an editor, so you’re in good company. The odd part is, my novel manuscripts usually run short.
