For a little extra fun, HO will be hosting “Humor Meets…Other Genre Days”. We have done something similar like this before with Halloween when we hosted our “Horror Meets Humor” Series which proved to be a great success and allowed us to give shout outs to talented horror writers. So, this summer, on specific days, we will post three to four posts from genres other than Humor. We cannot post every submission, so the editing team will select which submissions will be published. Those writers who are selected will enjoy the same amount of extensive promotion that HO writers receive. It is a great way to get your work and name out!
The rules are simple:
Register as a subscriber to HumorOutcasts.com. ( Please follow this up with a quick email to bestsy@humoroutcasts.com or donna@humoroutcasts.com as sometimes WordPress’ automatic confirmation does NOT work) Make sure to fill in a bio so if your work is selected, we can post easily and readers will be able to read about you and your work. While you are at it, like us on Facebook .
Check out the publication date for each specific genre and deadline date for submissions.
Each submission should not be more than 1500 words. It can be short stories or excerpts from books. If the work is from a book and you have a publisher, please provide written authorization from your publisher that we can excerpt your book.
Send submissions to Donna@HumorOutcasts.com Please put which genre you are submitting in the subject line of email and we will notify you after the deadline date if your work was selected.
This is the “Humor Meets…Other Genre Days” Schedule:
Fantasy: June 30th Deadline: June 24th
Sci-Fi: July 15th Deadline: July 9th
Romance: July 30th Deadline: July 24th
Suspense/Mystery: August 15th Deadline: August 9th
Historical fiction and non-fiction: August 30th Deadline: August 24th
We understand that we have not hit all genres, but we will do this again in the future and include other genres!
I love this idea. I’m just sad I don’t fit into any of the genres. I suspect I only loosely fit into the “humor” genre….
Emphasis on ” “
Oh, I think you fit perfectly into humor! 🙂 This idea is a fun way to get other writers recognized a bit for their work. I love the summer because it allows me to experiment a little for other writers too!
Well I think it’s a great idea!
