If my elected official is a person, why does it feel like I’m dealing Bank of America? Why do I feel like every time I get a letter or an e-mail from my congressman that I’m being informed that my credit is still good but now there will be a $50 surcharge if I don’t use their card more than once a week?
All the other posts on here that make fun of people are okay but mine are belittling and need to be more humane. I’m just making comments on a comedy website.
We poke fun at politicians who claim to say one thing and do another. I don’t care if they are GOP or Democrat and Obama has taken his fair shots. To call everyday people who are literally fighting for their lives stupid is something else and your argument that you work damn hard – so what, so do a lot of them and they don’t have jobs and they are getting slaughtered while their bigwig bosses are getting million dollar bonuses. You are not a conservative; I agree. You are a libertarian who thinks that government should not exist, but guess what, until someone steps in and helps the millions of people who need help NOW, we need that government because no one is looking out for anyone. Pure capitalism is an ideal that does not work. To let people run without rules and regulations inpsires inequality and eventually-revolt. And I think that is where we are now.
And yes, I make fun of Rick Perry because he has a proven history of lying, fraud and absolute hypocrisy. And if you are in the public eye and trying to hide from that, you are getting written about. And why else are these people prime targets for me? Because they release all their hateful propaganda in the name of God. That is what is the most ridiculous.
You say you work with the 99 percent. I don’t believe you know them. Have you talked to them? Talk to someone who has had to pay exhorbitant medical costs because the big insurance companies wouldn’t foot the bill. Trust me, I know that well. Talk to someone who is at the end of their unemployment benefits and where is their job? overseas. I have seen that happen to so many friends I can’t count. Talk to someone whose child can’t get the special ed he needs because of “State budget cuts for education”. Talk to the college graduates with $40,000 in student loans who can’t even get jobs waiting tables and are in danger of defaulting at the ripe old age of 23 or 22. After you talk to them then look at how Congress never has to worry about healthcare and some CEO who is getting a $2 million bonus because his company made a profit by expensing charges for layoffs, you will see why people are so upset. Just because you grew up blue collar doesn’t mean anything. This is not a blue collar/white collar issue. It is all of us now. These people are not stupid; they are desperate.
You go girl! 🙂
Wow, so succinct yet so true! I think it’s time for an overthrow. Oh wait, that is what they are trying to do peacefully. I hope they get it.
