Sea World Doubling Size of Killer Whale Tanks to 0.00002% That of Natural Habitat

Sea World has heard its critics and has forcefully responded amid the backlash from the documentary, “Blackfish,” which its makers believe exposed poor treatment of the large mammals and made a solid case that they should not even be held in captivity. The company has quickly moved to practically double the size of killer whale tanks in one of its marine parks from an infinitesimally miniscule fraction of their natural habitat to a whopping imperceptibly insignificant fraction of their natural habitat.

Sea World feels that by giving the killer whales tanks that are twice as deep as their entire body length will give them limitless space in which to roam. Also as part of the effort, dubbed the “Upright Fin Project,” tanks will feature underwater currents, simulated shorelines, and satellite radio.

Sea World will monitor the killer whales in the larger tanks and if fewer than 3 trainers are killed during the trial period, the tanks at the remaining parks will also be expanded.
