It’s the Breakout Romance of 2025. On Sunday, President Donald J. Trump and NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani informed reporters that they plan to get married in Las Vegas before the year is out.
No one who saw the two men canoodling in the Oval Office last week during Mamdani’s visit to the White House is surprised. As Secretary of State Marco Rubio put it, “I turned to the Secret Service agent standing next to me and whispered, ‘for the love of God, get a room’. Hell, the windows were starting to fog up.”
The President indicated that he feels bad for Russian President Vladimir Putin, to whom he had been engaged since February: “Vlad is a wonderful, wonderful man — one of the best, really — but what Zohran and I have is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I’m making it up to Vladimir by letting him do whatever he wants in Ukraine. It’s my way of saying I’m sorry.”
