A 94 year-old woman is reunited with the 77 year-old daughter she gave up for adoption. They celebrate by shopping at Justice where the daughter demands several pairs of trashy, overpriced jeans and purple, fake fur “Pretty Baby” -esque tops.
“If you dress like this, you’ll lose 6 months in a Lutheran home for pregnant girls like I did,” screams the weary, well-meaning parent.
“You don’t get it, old lady. Things are different than when you were a kid,” the insolent 77 year-old snaps back.
As usual, the mother gives in to avoid a scene.
The ungrateful, yet victorious daughter texts her girlfriends on the way home in the minivan.
The ruffled mother is comforted by the fact that odds are she will die soon.
All in all, a good day.
Hmmm. Somebody’s mental maturity hasn’t caught up with its chronological equivalent it seems.
