Piper Spiffin, a 20-year-old manicurist at Cuticle City in Pearland, Texas, was arrested on Friday for trading her 3-day-old baby for two tickets to Taylor Swift’s upcoming April 21st concert in Houston. The couple who received the infant was also arrested.
Ms. Spiffin told police that she had decided in 2022 to get pregnant in order to exchange the child for tickets to see either Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood. According to Spiffin, “Skeeter, my boyfriend at the time, was all in for this. He’s a bodybuilder who does lots of drugs, so I was pretty sure the baby would come out really strong and buff, and he did. He can lift his crib off the floor with just one of his tiny hands!”
The public defender representing Spiffin claims that the trade “was simply a straightforward adoption with a slight wrinkle. Nobody should be going to jail for this.”
Well, at least she had a plan–most parents can’t say that.
