New York City firefighters were still searching for bodies Friday morning after the collapse of a Manhattan apartment building caused by a fact-checker’s brain blowing up during Thursday night’s Presidential debate.
According to NYC Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh, the head of 23-year-old Associated Press intern Timothy Skiffington apparently “exploded like a Roman Candle as he was trying to record all of the falsehoods uttered by Donald Trump during the debate. The dining room curtains proceeded to catch fire, triggering a conflagration in a nearby gas stove. Then everything went boom.”
Timothy’s mother, Madeline “Mindy” Skiffington, described her son as “a gentle, sensitive young man, someone whose nervous system was far too delicate to handle all of the nonsense that was coming out of Mr. Trump’s mouth last night. At least he died doing what he loved.”
A spokesperson for the Trump campaign declined to comment on the tragedy, simply noting that “our guy had a very good night.”
