Lebensraum
Lebensraum, Lebensraum!
It was the German’s traum (German for ‘dream’)!
So they conquered the Netherlands
and made them subject to their demands.
They were such greedy Prussians,
they pulled the carpet out under the Russians.
Then they found a new doorway
by conquering neighboring Norway.
They couldn’t take Brittania
so they settled for Lithuania
And then hungry for another piece
they went ahead and occupied Greece.
But the ones who got the greatest theft
and were left absolutely bereft
were truly the hapless Jews
They paid the greatest of dues.
Lebensraum the Teutonics took
every home, shop and nook
and caused them to have to have to flee
or end up in horrid captivity.
But Israel learned a lot from the Holocaust
the price was paid at such a cost.
But some now do the very same
to the Palestinians who they now maim.
Israeli now sings of Lebensraum
and now it too is their traum.
For these days they do so pine
for the lands of Palestine.
And they will take it to be their own
these lands where desert sands are blown.
And more they want and then some
All to get their Lebensraum!
(Lebensraum is a German word that translates to ‘living space’- the idea that a person or a people need more room to live and grow in. This notion was popular in pre-war German of the 1930’s as an excuse for their incursions into neighboring countries.)
