Nikki Haley: “I was referring to CAMEL RACING when I claimed that the United States has never been a racist country”

The furor over Nikki Haley’s recent comment that America “has never been a racist country” has diminished considerably in the past 24 hours, now that the Republican Presidential candidate has clarified her original assertion.

“I was talking about camel racing, not racial discrimination or injustice,” says Haley.  Camel racing is a sport that takes place in Western Asia, Africa, Pakistan, Mongolia, and Australia, NOT the United States.  Hence my statement.  I regret that some left-wing extremists took my remark and twisted it in a way that was hurtful to people of color.”

Vice President Kamala Harris has publicly apologized to Haley for misinterpreting the remark, acknowledging that “I should have known that she was referring to camel racing.  My bad.  To be honest, if she’s on the ballot in November, I’ll probably vote for her.”
