5 Celebrity Death Mixups That Will Probably Happen on Twitter

When astronaut hero Neil Armstrong passed away recently, many took to Twitter to mourn the loss—of other celebrities they mistook for Neil Armstrong, including Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Lance Armstrong, and even Neil Young.

This isn’t really new to the Twitterverse, as when Paul McCartney appeared at the Grammy Awards, many took to the social network to vent their confusion as to whom this white man was.

So let’s all prepare for future mixups, so we don’t jump to conclusions right away. Here are a few celebrity deaths that will probably get misconstrued in the future:

1. Bruce Springsteen for Rick Springfield.
Remember, kids. Springsteen was “Born to Run.” Rick Springfield pined for “Jessie’s Girl.”

2. Buzz Lightyear for Buzz Aldrin.
Sure, Lightyear came to life in the Toy Story movies, but. . .he’s not real.

3. Demi Lovato for Demi Moore.
Both of them may have been in rehab, but only one got to suck face and engage in sexy pottery scenes with Patrick Swayze.

4. Bill Pullman for Bill Paxton and vice versa.
You just know this is going to happen, since people can’t keep these two straight while they’re alive.

5. Jack Nicholson for Jack Nicklaus.
People won’t be able to handle the truth when they realize Jack Nicklaus was one of the best golfers of all time and didn’t play the Joker.

Can you name any other celebrity death mixups we can anticipate?
