A Song In Tribute To All The Happy Creatures I Found When I Entered My Studio In Oaxaca, Mexico

Lyrics in celebration of what I find on my floor, wall and ceiling some afternoons when I  got home and opened the front door to my studio in Oaxaca, Mexico. (Borrowed shamelessly from the song ‘Lookin’ Out My Back Door’ by Creedence Clearwater Revival.)

(And the creatures are all for real!)

Lookin’ In My Front Door lyrics-

Just got home from the tienda store, open the front door, Oh Boy!

Look at all the happy creatures dancin’ on my floor

There’s a big headed ant eatin’ bread crumbs

And a cockroach playin’ that he’s dumb

Doo doo do, lookin’ in my front door

There’s a crazy lookin’ beetle, lying in a position fetal

Look at all the things that snuck under my door

    Doo, doo, doo!

And there’s all the spiders, with webs just like wires

Makin’ doo, doo, doo all over my floor.

Doggies sneakin’ in, tryin’ to get some more din, din

Oh. look, they grabbed my fresh spaghetti

   I’ll mince them into confetti!

They’re makin’ doo, doo, doo all over my floor!

I pay too much in rent, thereby I have to vent

But I’ll bother with it tomorrow,

   Today I’ve got to shower

Doo, doo,  doo, oh man I could just holler!

They think that they’re the only ones who can climb a wall

But I learned that I can do it too

And surely it will be the cause of my fall

If I live too long in this zoo

Doo, doo doo! Lookin’ in my front door!
