Philadelphia, PA  — HumorOutcasts Press is proud to announce that Jamie Reidy, author of  A Walk’s As Good As A Hit (HumorOutcasts Press, 2013)  and Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman, which was turned into the film Love and Other Drugs, is hitting the road attending a different sporting event every day for 365 days.  Reidy, a former U.S. Army officer, will invite Wounded Warriors on his trek in hopes of helping them fulfill their own sports fantasies.  The year-long event will be the subject of Reidy’s next book. Reidy has detailed his daunting project on Kickstarter.

“I’m going to get in the car and see a different athletic contest every day for a year, hitting all 50 states,” Reidy explains. “When I first thought of this, I thought when am I going to find time to complete those lists? Is it even possible for a non-sports writer to do all that in one lifetime? There are so many obstacles to completing those lists including the three big ones: marriage, kids and job. Then it occurred to me that I’m not married and I have no kids and according to one ex-girlfriend, I don’t have a real job.”

A graduate of University of Notre Dame in 1992, Reidy has already attended many big sporting events in his life including the national title game between Notre Dame and Alabama in 2013, two World Series, eight of the last nine Kentucky Derbies, the US Open Tennis, the NYC Marathon plus various games at the Rose Bowl, Fenway, Wrigley Field and Soldier Field.

“This is such an audacious undertaking that I had to name it,” Reidy quips. “The official name of this year is SPORTS YEAR, and for all sports fans, I even have started a twitter account @Sports_Year and a blog.”
