Not a Complaint Really

When being apt to bake a cookie
With flour and pickle-water, mostly;
When lighting candles in the evening,
‘Cos electricity’s too costly;
When being moderate in drinking
Not due to virtue, but to prices;
When in a raincoat in mid-summer
To hide a patch-up on your trousers;
When vigorously celebrating
The purchase of a new cig-lighter
You know you’re DES-TI-NED for greatness,
You realize that you’re a Writer.
