At a major campaign event on Thursday, Donald Trump spoke only German when addressing his supporters.
“It was surreal,” said Garrett Neffler, co-owner of a paintball park who drove all the way from Gallup, NM to attend the rally. “Nobody had any idea what Trump was talking about, but he was so animated and enthusiastic, spitting everywhere, that we all got incredibly excited. BEST. RALLY. EVER!!!”
Trump maintains that he didn’t realize his speech had been delivered in German. “It is true that Melania and I have been taking a German-language course ever since our marriage counselor told us that we should be doing more things together, but I had intended to stick to English in my public appearances until after the election. My bad.”
