I heard a news story on the radio last night about a house fire in which a dog was burned, but a statue of the Virgin Mary remained “untouched”. The owners said that they took this as a sign from Jesus.
The sign being, I suppose, “Fuck your house AND your dog, but I’ll be damned if I let a statue of mom be harmed!”
