Sally Ride waited until the end of her life to tell the world she was gay. The reason is simple. While she would always be known as an accomplished Doctor of Physics, the first woman in the US space program, and a role model for children of all ages, being gay meant she could never do one thing: shout out the words “Eat mor Chikin” in a commercial for Chick-Fil-A.

We need more role models like Sally, to inspire the youth of today to study math and science and become tomorrow’s technology leaders.
Hmm. Let’s see:
Put on idiotic costume and be in asinine Chick-Fil-A commercial …
or …
Put on real astronaut gear and make history, then become an eminent scientist
Chick-Fil-A, astronaut/scientist … Chick-Fil-A, astronaut/scientist
Astronaut/scientist. Definitely astronaut/scientist.
Double posting to add:
RIP Sally Ride, and thanks for showing us that being female is not an automatic barrier to having and following dreams.
