Bill Y just had a cock-up of monumental, catastrophic proportions. My new boss looks and acts like a real person but today I learned that she has a way of getting her point across that is very much, straight to the point and as blunt as the actress Emily Blunt’s hammer that needs some serious work because it’s blunt. Allow me to begin by admitting that I was a coward and that I did not do the right thing. The right thing would have been to call and advise that I couldn’t make it to work because it was raining but I sent an email instead of calling. It took my boss all of 11 seconds to email me back:
I guess for this guy work was a blast!
True but it was known to blow up in his face!
Thanks to that Japanese man the term “workaholic” was added to our everyday lexicon forever.
I know there are subtle differences but I just survived an atomic blast from my boss and it wasn’t fun at all, at all!
