January Ornellas started writing short, humorous stories about her midlife adventures in 2018. In 2019, she launched her blog, Midlifebloomer, which she continues to write for today. Since then, she has had many of these stories published (LA Times, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop) and was an honorable mention in the 2022 EBWW global humor writing competition. Ornellas is currently working on a new book, Diabolical, a dark comedy about softball moms who terrorize the 10 and Under girls’ softball diamond. When she is not writing, Ornellas enjoys running, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She lives in Moorpark, CA with Steve, her husband of 33 years.
