Hang Up and Drive

My husband was behind the wheel of my Escape as we  drove down I-95 to Delaware. On the  highway, we got behind a  car that had a bumper sticker with big, red letters that said, “HANG UP AND DRIVE!”   My husband pulled into the left lane to pass that car which was going about 60 MPH.  As we passed, I looked over expecting to see a very cautious driver clutching the wheel in the recommended 10 and 2 o’clock position.  What I saw instead was a woman holding a take out food container which she rested on the wheel and which she used as her hands to steer. She had to use her dish to steer because her right hand was also busy holding her fork.  This, in case anyone is interested , is the living definition of hypocrisy.

  1. Her bumper sticker should have read, “Honk if you see an asshole eating while they’re driving.” LOL!

  2. At least she wasn’t driving with her elbows, looking into the rear view mirror while pulling out hair curlers and reaching over to station search on her radio every now and then.
