Cheering for Death – the New American Way?

At a recent GOP debate, the audience laughed and applauded at the idea of allowing a  man to die because he had no health coverage.  This cold-hearted disregard for human life came from the same people who shout out bible verses in normal conversation and sport pro-life bumper stickers on their cars.  For those who are not caught up in Tea Party fever, this jubilant reaction was considered to be quite disturbing. Even Rick Perry, the “I don’t care about people as long as it doesn’t affect big business pockets” candidate was taken aback and saddened by the crowd’s apparent disregard for human life.  The GOP and tea party movement is starting to resemble  Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.  Somewhere, sometime soon, some of these GOP thugs are going to wake up and scream “WHAT HAVE WE DONE; WE HAVE CREATED A MONSTER!”  If I remember my history lesson, the last time we met this monster was in Germany about 70 years ago.  History has a nasty way of coming back to haunt us.

  1. We should just banned big businesses altogether. The idea of employing 10’s of 1000’s Americans sickens me.

    1. I don’t think banning corporations is the answer. I think healthcare for everyone is the answer. It will probably cost businesses less to have a national health plan and more people will remain healthy and able to do their jobs.
