Last night, they blanketed our city with poison sprayed from the air in order to kill mosquitoes carrying the West Nile Virus. I feel pretty confident that it’s safe, because I just went out and took a few deep breaths and I just went out and took a few deep breaths and deep breaths everything seems to be OJ.

This was just too funny! I lived in an apartment in NYC that required ant and roach spray and I think it did fry my brain as well.
I refuse to use bug spray, and I live in a basement apartment! I kill off any waterbug population with diatomaceous earth, which is a powder, safe for humans and pets. And yes, it works very well. I plug one of those ultrasonic beepers into an outlet in the bedroom to deter spiders and things that might bite me. My cat has a grand time chasing the occasional fly, centipede or other garden-type bug that is unfortunate enough to get into my place. So yes, there are alternatives to poisoning yourself and your critters.
I really hope we won’t be subjected to being dusted with anti-West-Nile-Virus bug spray. The air is polluted enough in New York City without that.
