Happy Valentine’s Day From Your Local Librarian

Is every librarian a poet at heart? I don’t know, but a group of librarians just put their heads together and came up with these library-themed Valentine’s Day poems:

Roses are red
Your book’s overdue.
Don’t know what it’s called
but the cover is blue.

Roses are red
The books are read too
Traditional or digital
What kind of reader are you?

Roses are red
Violets are blue
The copier is jammed
And the internet is down too.

Roses are Red
The library sign is blue.
Can we make it one day
Without hearing “we’re doomed?”

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I..S..B..N thinking of you

Roses are red
Violets are blue
No one here wants to write
Your resume for you

Roses are red
Tax forms are here
I need a drink
Either wine or a beer

Roses are red
The library’s fun
Come to my program
Last week I had none

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sanitize your desk
Everyone here has the flu.

The roses are dead
The violets are too
We don’t have a budget
So we have to make do

Roses are red
The book drop’s for books
Not for balloons or kittens
Or whatever else you’re thinking
Seriously, I’ve found sandwiches in there

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Just download the damn tax forms from irs.gov
WTF is wrong with you?

Roses are red
Library cats are fluffy
But because I have allergies
They make my nose stuffy.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
If you love your library
We’re grateful for you.

Is there a library-related poem in your heart? If so, please post it in the Comments Section. And Happy Valentine’s Day!
