Slow runner thoughts:

  • It’s my mind that keeps me running, my body told me to quit 15 minutes ago.
  • Slow runners make fast runners look good (“You’re welcome”).
  • I’m slower than a turtle in peanut butter but I run.
  • I may be slow, but I get more value out of my entry fee.
    • If the entry fee for a 5K race is $30, then a person running a 6-minute mile pays $1.61 per minute. If I run a 12-minute mile then it only costs me $.84 per minute!
  • No matter how slow, you’re still faster than everyone on the couch.
  • Running slow isn’t a character fault, quitting is.
  • A slow run is better than no run.
  • A 12-minute mile is just as far as a 6 minute mile.
  • The beer at the finish line has had longer to chill.
