Hit Me with Your Best Shot… On Second Thought, Don’t

Earlier this year, Class of 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Pat Benatar announced she would no longer be performing “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” one of her biggest hits, during concerts. She cited mass shootings as the chief reason for her decision. But no matter why she did what she did, we applaud Ms. Benatar for her wokeness and remain confused that she continued to feature “Hit Me…” in her shows during the heyday of domestic violence.

With this in mind, here are some more songs we think musicians should consider dropping from their set lists.

Rod Stewart
“Da Ya Think I’m Sexy”
Unless you want to hear a resounding “no” from a crowd of blue-haired old biddies, you’d best not ask this question anymore, pal.

Genesis
“I Can’t Dance”
Pretty obvious you can’t dance, guys. You can barely walk. Or stand up, for that matter.

Bon Jovi
“Livin’ on a Prayer”
It’s been over 30 years. Surely you’re more than halfway there by now.

Bob Seger
“Roll Me Away”
The EMTs might think you’re talking to them, Bob.

AC/DC
“You Shook Me All Night Long”
You guys are way past your prime, and considering the five-plus decades of hard living, you certainly don’t require any help in the shaking department.
