I was at the beach in an area where they had fresh water crocodiles on the Oaxacan coast in southern Mexico. I thought if I could find a place where the fresh water came to the ocean I might see one. But I thought “Oh my chances are very small to see one”. I walked up to the first boat, looked over it and there he was! I couldn’t tell if he was awake or not. I didn’t get any closer to find out- I might have found out the hard way!
After this I walked to a small strip of land between two fresh water lagoons, looking carefully for crocodiles. As I got to the end of it something large moved into the water with a splash about ten feet from me. A couple minutes later another large ‘thing’ moved into the water too. It was time to leave.
People who I told this to said “Yes, those were probably crocodiles.”
