The Official Bio Channel Ghost Hunting Kits

Once again I was drawn into one of the ghost story shows on the Bio channel.  It wasn’t the ghosts themselves who caught my interest, but the  ghost hunting kits advertised during the commercial breaks that kept me tuned in. It seems with a small investment, even I can become a ghost hunter. And I don’t even have to be an expert ghost hunter.  There are kits for everyone from the novice ghost hunter to the most experienced. As long as one has the right tools, one can go find a spirit.

I think I would be in the novice category. So, for me, the Mini-Ghost Hunting Kit might be a good fit. For $27.96, I can get a kit that contains a low and ultra-low frequency vibration detector that emits a piercing sound when tripped.  The good thing about this alarm is that even if I don’t find a ghost, the vibration detector doubles as an earthquake or anti-theft alarm.  So, it’s practical on a paranormal and non-paranormal basis. Can’t beat that for the price.

If I had more spirit searching experience under my belt, I could spend a little more and get a Laser I.R. Meter and Thermometer.  Yes, for a mere $47.96, I will have the tool that measures  proper distance from a radiation source.  Sure, the thermometer looks like those inventory guns retail people use, but in fact, it is doing more than recording how many bottles of olives are sitting on a shelf. This gun is detecting non-human entities. It is easy to be cynical about this kit, but it did get a five-star review from a customer who said and I quote, “This was great for me!!!! I found like a lot of paranormal activity. It was fun.”

Hey, I don’t know about you, but when someone uses three–count them– three exclamation points, he or she must be telling the truth. No one goes that far out on a limb just for a review.

As an  intermediate ghost hunter, I could purchase the Deluxe Ghost Hunting kit for $79.96.  This kit contains state-of-the-art instruments including an EVP listener to track electronic voice phenomena, a digital infrared pen thermometer which shows temperature changes when the ghosts enter and exit a room, and an EMF meter which detects magnetic fields which will either tell me if a spirit is swirling around my house or  if I have a radon problem. The best part of this kit is that I would get a nifty carrying case to take with me on my ghostly excursions. And who doesn’t like a carrying case?

Let’s say I was an expert Ghost Hunter who truly knew my way around a haunted house or demonic possession. What Ghost Hunting Kit would be good for me?  Well, in this case, I would go for the mother of all kits which costs right now on sale ONLY $207.96. You might wonder what makes this kit so great? Well, I will tell you.  In this advanced kit, there is a Trifield Meter ( I don’t know what this is, but my knowledge of Latin prefixes says it would measure three types of fields). I would also get  a portable motion sensor, an EVP listener, a digital local remote thermometer, a laser IR thermometer and of course, an even nicer carrying case than the one in the Deluxe Kit. This case will not only  keep my super spirit stuff organized but it will make me look professional, and we all know how important that is because  most ghosts want to know that those who are hunting them are not amateurs before they let their presence be known.

I am impressed that there is a kit for every level of ghost hunter.  At least with these choices, I don’t have to worry that I would be throwing my money away on something cheap, frivolous or impractical in today’s world.

  1. I don’t feel any ghosts around here right now, but I am sensing a new “Ghostbusters” movie in this.

  2. I would like to step up to the advanced kit that includes the full Ghost busters set of tools. However, the laser IR thermometer IS pretty neat; I used to use them in my work!

    1. Well, Mike since your know what the laser IR thermometer is, you automatically get to buy the advanced kit! The ghosts will be surprised by your spirit catching acumen!

  3. Throw your money away on something cheap, frivolous or impractical? The woman who bought a Schticky? What are the odds? (or was she only just thinking about it?) And oh yeah, you get the Biography Channel? You so lucky!!! (note the clever use of three exclamation points to indisputably indicate the intense level of my sincerity!)

  4. I think the kit also comes with a fifth of liquor that allows you to see ghosts, LOL! Funny stuff Donna!!
