Stonehenge Mystery Solved. Ancients Used Stones to Catch Some Rays

Stonehenge_2005Archaeologists have finally solved the mystery of Stonehenge following the discovery of a new structure beneath the famous stones in the United Kingdom.

The monument was a tanning salon for ancient Celtic tribes.

Stones in the center of the circle catch the sun, especially during the winter solstice, and experts assumed that this was an altar for pagan worshippers. But the new evidence suggests that the stones were actually tanning beds.

“I suppose you could call it sun worship,” said Mildred Mildew, Archaeology Professor at Black Hole University, IA, who led the team that made the discovery.

Mildew’s team uncovered what appear to be rooms below the stones with towel racks and clay vessels. An analysis of the vessels revealed that they once contained Celtic sun block.
