I want to protect innocent people from sin by locking them in cages, where the evil can’t get to them.

Better make it plexiglass. Sin can seep through bars of a cage.
wouldn’t it be better if the people in danger were able to use the cloaking device. With that they would be invisible and evil wouldn’t know how to find them.
