FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS
If you have most of the symptoms of Inattentive Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, you probably have it.a If they had known this, your parents could have saved themselves a lot of the energy they used up yelling at you for daydreaming and, instead, could have yelled at your sister for real offenses, like borrowing your clothes without asking you and daring to be cuter than you are.
On the other hand, it isn’t nice to blame your sister for being born, just because you were here first and Mom likes her best.
Parents are omniscient and powerful, and they will be happy to remind their kids of this at all hours of the day and night. Sarcastic wisecracks on the part of said kids will be dealt with swiftly and very clearly.
“Because I said so” only works when the person saying that is a lot bigger than the one it is being said to and has the power to increase or withhold the smaller person’s allowance.
When your parents leave you to babysit your younger siblings, it is not permissible to beat up on your little brother when he won’t obey you.
Dysfunctional families are fertile breeding grounds for writers, performers and other misfits.
aIf you keep this up, you’ll get stuck that way, and you’ll end up just like the woman in the picture at left.
I remember a zinger of which I was quite proud. But I remember the soap bath inside my mouth even more. Great stuff here!
LOL!
That reminds me of the scene in “A Christmas Story” where Ralphie is describing the tastes of different soaps, and delivers the judgment that Lifebuoy has the worst taste of all.
When I was supposed to be growing up, my sister gave me a horrible time but I love her now. I learned how far women will go to get what they want and that lesson was invaluable!
Thank you, Bill. It’s good to know that we older sisters serve a useful purpose to our younger siblings, even when we are being great big old bossy smartypants bitches.
The site just told me I was posting things too fast, and wouldn’t take my comment. It had better take it this time, or else! 😉
All these years later, I still don’t have much luck with sarcastic wisecracks.
Hehe! We bottle them up inside and let them out here!
