Author: Robin Savage

From an early age, Robin Savage always knew she wanted to be a public spectacle. In high school she joined the Forensic and Debate Society, winning the coveted "I tried" award five years in a row. While in college, Robin made friends with a bunch of misfits, ruffians and hooligans whose antics eventually got them kicked out of their fraternity…no, wait, that was the movie Animal House. Robin took several years off to pursue her love of gluttony and sloth before finding work as a corporate trainer. Eventually she found her way to the comedy stage where her irreverent stand-up routine had audiences talking. “Huh?” “I don’t get it.” “Is this supposed to be funny?” Feeling like she had a story to tell the world, Robin took up motivational speaking. She shares her humble beginnings as a middle class, white girl living in Missouri who eventually became a middle class, white woman living in Florida. She hopes her story can help others. In addition, Robin wrote a book, Stand Up and Be a Lady where she brings to life some of where alter-egos like Cathy Gainer Corporate Trainer and Soccer Mom Sienna. Robin hosted her own internet radio show, The Kwirky Bird Show on TheArtsRadio.com. She also produced a Segment, “Lunch Laughs” on WTMY 1280 AM. She performs annually at the New Seeds Festival. The first all-women’s performing arts festival in the Southeast. Robin has performed in the following comedy clubs: Tampa Improv, McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre, Stanford and Sons, Side Splitters, Comedy Zone, Cracker House Comedy Club, Snappers Comedy Club, Bonkerz Comedy Clubs, Jackie Knight’s Club, Gregory’s on the Beach Comedy Club, Groucho’s Comedy Clubs, Coconuts Comedy Clubs, and Giggles Comedy Clubs. Her theatre appearances include, The Norris Center, The Galaxy Theatre, The Gorilla Theatre, The Masque Theatre, Smith Black Box Theatre, Sleuth’s Mystery Theatre and The Venue Theatre. She has worked with the following charities: International Essential Tremor Foundation, The American Cancer Society, Tampa Bay Crisis Center, The Egyptian Shriners, Generation Rescue, American Diabetes Society and Team Fox for Parkinson’s Research.

Gaining Leadership

February 19, 2013March 7, 2013 Robin Savage

Hey Gang!  In honor of President’s Day, I thought we could discuss leadership.  Loosely translated, the word means “to lead a ship”.  Translated directly, it means “Pirate”. The key to being a good leader is […]
